This bio is now a memorial in loving memory of one of our most dear members and co-founders of RSP Entertainment.  He will be forever missed by all those that knew him and was a driving force that helped build RSP Entertainment into the wonderful company it is today.  Once again, this page is kept as a memorial to the great man, father, brother and friend Roy was and he will always be remembered as nothing less.
Roy Roman Prusak, 1951 - 2010.

"Hello, my name is Roy Roman Prusak, also known as Papa DJ, and thanks for visiting my profile.  I started taking an interest in DJ work shortly after my son, Roy Shannon started his hobby back in '96.  I've always been a music lover, and now that I'm able to MC with RSP Entertainment it gives me one more reason to  interact with people and entertain them with the music they enjoy while spending time with my boys.  How can you beat that?
I've had over 10 years of experience with RSP Entertainment and counting.  Both of my brothers, Steve and Russell Prusak have also been in bands all of their life, so being around music was a part of my life.  As you can tell I'm one of the baby boomers and help round out RSP Entertainment's music selection with great hits from the 50's, 60's, 70's and Beach Music favorites.
Russ and I typically make the 2nd DJ Duo and have been building a great reputation as well as receiving many compliments on our well organized performances.  You can't go wrong with over 18 years of combined experience under our belts.  Russ and I compliment each other's musical tastes very well by combining my old school feel with his cutting edge Top 40 track knowledge to give you the best mix for your event!
Thanks for taking the time to read my profile and feel free to let us know if there's anything we can do to help make your experience with RSP Entertainment more satisfying."

This next portion is copied from an article written by the Roanoke Times to pay a tribute to the caring person Roy was:

"Roanoke tailor known for devotion to his family

Roy Roman Prusak, who died March 28, followed his father into the business.

By Lerone Graham
981-3234

A heart virus claimed the life of a man who valued family and loved his business, J.P. Tailoring Co., a staple in the Roanoke Valley for 50 years.

Roy Roman Prusak of Troutville died March 28. He was 58.

"I can tell you this, he was a tremendous brother and a great person," said older brother Russell Prusak.

"There's a big hole, a big void."

Prusak leaves behind another brother, Ivan Prusak, two sons, Roy Shannon and Russell Steven Prusak, and many other relatives.

Roy Prusak was the only one of his brothers to follow his father into the tailoring business. Prusak started working with his father and mother in the store after high school. When his parents died, Prusak took over the business, located on Salem Avenue in downtown Roanoke.

Russell Prusak said the family hasn't decided whether the business will reopen. A telephone message at the shop said it was closed because of Roy Prusak's death, and left contact information for anyone wanting to pick up an order.

Prusak made suits for CEOs and some celebrities, but had an even larger clientele of average people, his brother said. Russell Prusak said no matter how big or small a job, all customers were treated fairly.

He recalled an incident some years ago when the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame soul group The O'Jays were in need of a tailor to repair a member's broken zipper before a concert in Roanoke. Before leaving, Prusak asked group members how much they paid for their suits. The answer: $1,500. Roy Prusak told family members later he could have made the suits for $500.

"That's just the way he was. He didn't rip people off," Russell Prusak said.

The news of his brother's death is "still pretty raw" for Prusak, because he said they were "as close as two brothers can be." He said Roy Prusak was the type to always have a smile on his face and went out of his way for friends and family.

He supported his sons when they became disc jockeys, helping them launch RSP Entertainment. Prusak began DJing himself under the moniker "Papa DJ."

"Whatever thing they liked to do, he was there for him and encouraged them," Russell Prusak said.

'They were his life.' "

I will miss his great work. He fixed many clothes for me, including a wedding dress I made. Thank goodness he was there for that one! I don't think there is another in the Valley with his skills.

I was saddened to hear of Roy's death just a few days after my visit with him to disable the ICD alert tones. It is always rewarding when my company's devices bring fuller life to patients. But it is even more disheartening when they don't. My sincere condolences to the family.

To the Prusak, Rogulski, Shrader family,
I know you all are hurting. You lost a great member of your family. He was always so upbeat and seemed to me the picture of health. I knew him from running around with Maria all these years. The last time I saw him he was the D. J. for the Senior Citizen Prom. I drove a bus load from Salem to the Prom. Roy and Russell really put on a show for everyone. I talked to Maria at length the night of the bad news. I would have come to the visitation or the funeral but my elderly mother is in town and I am taking care of her. Try to just lean on Jesus and cherish the fun times. So sorry for your loss. He was truly a great man.
